Homestitch is a Panchgani- based enterprise started by Samina Ahmed; giving women from Panchgani & nearby villages the opportunity to work from their own homes.

In what started off as an attempt to get a couple of ladies from her neighbourhood to learn embroidery, Homestitch today is a group comprising 30 home embroiderers, making products including bedsheets, table cloths & pillow covers.

Homestitch is known for their Kantha stitch- a form of embroidery often practised by rural women; it is a simple running stitch done along the edge of fabric. In some cases, the entire cloth is covered with running stitches, using motifs of flowers, animals birds and geometrical shapes.

Kantha serves as the background for the logo, which encapsulates the spirit of Homestitch.
